This is the list of Accredited Universities in Nigeria offering B.Sc Pharmacy. For the purposes of this list, only accredited and degree-granting universities are published.
The Pharmacy Council states that the minimum registration qualifications to practice pharmacy in Nigeria are a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
The council did, however, state that it recognizes senior pharmaceutical colleagues whose highest qualification is only a Diploma of Pharmacy Certificate.
Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Mora, Chairman of the PCN Governing Council, made the announcement during a press conference in Abuja on the recently gazetted PCN (Establishment) Act 2022.
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, according to Prof. Mora, was the first university in Nigeria to produce degree holders in 1996.
“The pharmaceutical landscape is improving in terms of regulation and control with each legal instrument,” he stated. For example, the BME of 1927 addressed dispensers because there were no pharmacy degree holders.”
The following universities in the country offer B.Pharm and PharmD programs:

He also stated that the PCN is now known as the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria rather than the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria as a result of the new act.
According to him, the new act empowers the council to control not only pharmacists but also all other parties in the pharmacy distribution chain, such as pharmacy technicians, patent medicine vendors, manufacturers, and importers.
Furthermore, Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, the Council's Registrar, stated that the Council had delisted three overseas institutions due to the poor performance of their graduates.
“We have seen that some of our overseas universities bringing in pharmacists pose some issues.” We have sent memoranda to appropriate council committees, and we are currently delisting three international universities due to poor graduate performance, and we have also written those institutions because that is the foundation.
“We delisted three, two from Cameroon and one from Togo.” Others from the Middle East are also being considered. We've started our investigations to ensure they have the necessary qualifications to train pharmacists; otherwise, we'll take the same action," he said.
