Eligibility Criteria for UTME Candidates
To be eligible for admission into any undergraduate programme, UTME candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Make AKSU their First (1) Choice Institution.
- Score 140 and above in the 2024 UTME.

Registration Period
The University's online registration portal will be accessible from Monday, 5th August, 2024 to Friday, 30th August, 2024. It is highly recommended that interested candidates complete their registration before the deadline. Failure to register within the specified period will result in non-consideration for admission at Akwa Ibom State University.
Requirements for the 2024/2025 Screening Exercise
To participate in the screening exercise, candidates must possess the following documents:
- 2024 UTME Result slip
- 2024 DE Registration Slip (Direct Entry applicants only)
- HND, ND, NCE, A-level certificate, etc. (Direct Entry applicants only)
- Birth Certificate
- Certificate of Origin
- AKSU PUTME/DE Registration Confirmation Slip (2024)
Registration Procedure
Candidates are required to follow the step-by-step procedure below for online registration:
- Visit the AKSU website at portal.aksu.edu.ng
- Click on "START NOW"
- Select "Enroll"
- Choose "PUTME"
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number
- Verify and Continue by clicking the arrow below
- Make a registration fee payment of N2,000.00 (excluding bank charges). Payment can be made via Debit Card or Bank Deposit Nationwide. If payment is made at the Bank, please repeat steps 1-3, then continue with the registration. Afterwards, upload the scanned copies of your documents (2024 UTME Result Slip, 2024 DE Registration Details Slip with A-level, NCE, ND, or HND certificate, Birth Certificate, Certificate of Origin) in jpg format with a minimum size of 120KB and a maximum size of 150KB.
- Preview the entered details to ensure accuracy.
- After confirmation, click the "Finish" button to generate the Registration Confirmation Slip.
Important Notes
- There will be a grace period of four (4) weeks within which all approved admissions must be accepted by the candidates. Failure to accept the admission within this period will result in the admission being deleted, and the candidate placed under the "refusal to accept" category, which may lead to ineligibility for readmission.
- Candidates with awaiting results may apply, but they must ensure that their O'level (WAEC/NECO) results are uploaded appropriately at the JAMB portal (CAPS) in a COMPUTER-BASED TEST (CBT) CENTRE approved by JAMB.
- The University does not have individuals/sales agents for admission. Anyone dealing with any individual and/or making payments to an individual's account does so at their own risk.
