MAUTECH Postgraduate courses and requirements

MAUTECH is one of the federal universities of technology in Nigeria, established in 1981 with the sole purpose of advancing science-based research and education. The university offers various postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (M.Sc) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degrees in various fields of study.

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) is the academic unit responsible for the coordination and administration of all postgraduate programmes in MAUTECH. The SPGS has six faculties, namely: School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT), School of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SEET), School of Environmental Sciences (SES), School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT), School of Life Sciences (SLS) and School of Physical Sciences (SPS).

The SAAT offers postgraduate courses in the following departments:

  • A minimum of five O’level credits, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two sittings.
  • A minimum score of 50% in the Postgraduate Admission Test conducted by MAUTECH.
  • For Ph.D programmes, a Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or 3.00 on a 4-point scale in a relevant field from MAUTECH or any other recognized university.
