Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into AUST's undergraduate programs, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Attain a minimum JAMB score of 140 for the 2023/2024 session.
- Possess a minimum of five credits in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or National Examination Council (NECO) examinations, including Mathematics and English.
Program-Specific Requirements

1. Software Engineering
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- Two 'A' Level passes, including Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject.
- ND/NCE at Credit/Merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science or computing-related programs from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into the Software Engineering program at 300 level.
- All candidates must meet the SSCE basic requirements.
UTME Requirements:
- Five (5) SSC credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, and any two (2) other Science subjects.
- UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, or Geography.
2. Computer Science
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- Two 'A' Level passes, including Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject.
- ND/NCE at Credit/Merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science or computing-related programs from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into the Computer Science program at 300 level.
- All candidates must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

- UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, or Geography.
3. Petroleum and Energy Resources Engineering
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- Two 'A' Level passes, including Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject.
- ND/NCE at Credit/Merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or related programs from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into the Petroleum and Energy Resources Engineering program at 300 level.
- All candidates must meet the SSCE basic requirements.
UTME Requirements:
- Five (5) SSC credits, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, English Language, and any Science subject.
- UTME Subjects: Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
4. Mechanical Engineering
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- Two 'A' Level passes, including Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject.
- ND/NCE at Credit/Merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or related programs from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into relevant programs at 300 level.
- All candidates must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

5. Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- Two 'A' Level passes, including Physics, Mathematics, and any other subject.
- ND/NCE at Credit/Merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related programs from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into relevant programs at 300 level.
- All candidates must meet the SSCE basic requirements.
UTME Requirements:
- Five (5) SSC credit passes, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, English Language, and any other Science subject.
- UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
6. Business Administration
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- 'A' level passes in any two (2) of the following subjects: Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, and Geography.
- ND/NCE at credit level and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related programs obtained from a recognized Polytechnic, plus three (3) other SSC subjects passed at credit level.
- AUST accepts very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting, Business Management, Government, and Geography.
UTME Requirements:
- Five (5) SSC credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, plus any two (2) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography, and Statistics.
- UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Economics, and one (1) other subject.
7. Accounting
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements:
- 'A' level passes in any two (2) of the following subjects: Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, and Geography.
- ND/NCE at credit level and HND lower credit in relevant programs into 200 and 300 levels.
- Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related programs obtained from a recognized Polytechnic, plus three (3) other SSC subjects passed at credit level.
- AUST accepts very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting, Business Management, Government, and Geography.
UTME Requirements:
- Five (5) SSC credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, Economics, and two (2) other relevant subjects.
- For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice, and Secretarial Duties.
- UTME Subjects: Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science subject.
How to Apply
Applications for first-year undergraduate degrees at AUST must be submitted online through the JAMB E-facility Portal. Walk-in applicants who did not initially select AUST as their school of first choice should visit the JAMB Portal to make the necessary changes.
